Damariscotta’s Oct. 19 Board of Selectmen meeting included a discussion of some of the numbers of Pumpkinfest, held Columbus Day weekend.

Police logged 115 hours during the three-day festival, and the Fire Department recorded 50 hours. Most of the hours were spent in crowd and traffic control.

The board also announced that the job of putting up and taking down American flags during the summer season has been picked up by the American Legion.

Police will hold a “Trick or Trunk” event on Halloween evening at the police department parking lot, and all children and parents are invited.

Selectmen will hold a public hearing at 5:30 p.m. Nov. 2 on the bond issue to repair the sidewalks on Elm and Theater streets. Other issues on the Damariscotta ballot will include changes to allow for accessory apartments in existing buildings, and three technical changes to town statutes.

The board also announced that the guard rail on Church Street was replaced by Main Line Fence, and the Department of Public Works put a cold patch on the road to prepare it for winter.
