Wiscasset Ambulance Service took a man to Mid Coast Hospital in Brunswick Saturday night, after a one-car accident on Alna Road, or Route 218, in Alna, Lincoln County Sheriff’s Sgt. Brendan Kane said.

The man was the car’s driver and only occupant, Kane said at the scene. The man was conscious but the extent of his injuries were not yet known, Kane said.

The car, traveling northbound when the accident occurred, came to rest in a ditch on the northbound side, Kane said. No cause or other details were known yet.

The Alna Fire Department, Wiscasset police and Blagden’s Wrecker Service also responded to the accident, reported shortly before 7 p.m.
