Final art tour of the season this Friday

    A self-guided tour of fine art exhibits, new show openings, receptions, and demonstrations in galleries and studios happening this month in Boothbay Harbor and East Boothbay.

    JOY TO THE WIND GALLERY

    Reception: 2-4 p.m.

    Celebrating the last First Friday event of the season-artists Lynne and John M. T. Seitzer will host an open house of their art gallery and Custom Picture Framing Service on the east side of the harbor near the footbridge. Open daily 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Parking available.

    STUDIO 53 FINE ART

    Reception: 5-7 p.m.

    The final weeks of the season will be highlighted with a First Friday Party at Studio 53. View the retrospective show featuring the work of H. Lane Smith in the first floor galleries. The First Floor Hallway gallery and much of the second floor focus on The Artist Group of Studio 53: Tony van Hasselt, Bob McKay, John MT Seitzer, Greg Laderer, Nancy Wilkoff, Lynne Seitzer, Don Josephson and artist proprietors Terry Seaman and Heidi Seidelhuber. Additional selected paintings, drawings and sculpture include Robert Hamilton, David Estey, Gerald Immonen, Victoria Wulff, Jack Silverio, Don Meserve and David Dupree. The Sculpture Garden on the waterfront features the work of Dick Alden. Off street parking in back!

    BOOTHBAY REGION ART FOUNDATION

    Our gallery features over 100 regional artists. Artwork includes acrylics, oils, pastels, photography, watercolor, mixed media and sculpture. Open daily – Monday through Saturday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

    GOLD/SMITH GALLERY

    Reception: 4-6 p.m.

    Gold/Smith Gallery will be featuring a continuing look into the world of jazz with new paintings from the “Classic Jazz Series” by John Vander. The paintings represent Vander’s journey into the world of jazz: its dark, smokey clubs; bright music and bluesy torch singers. The work is mixed media with collage that resonate the energy of the music they represent. There will be refreshments and all are welcome to enjoy this terrific exhibit and meet the artist. Open Monday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday noon to 5 p.m. Closing for the season Oct. 16.

     PARADISE STUDIO

    Come see the bright and relaxing realistic oils by Mary Ellen TK Serina and the garden benches by Ron at our open house. Wine and refreshments will be served at the reception. Directions: Follow Rt. 96, the Ocean Point Road, 4/10 mile past the East Boothbay General Store and turn right onto Paradise Point Road at the top of the hill. Paradise Studio is at number 70 with the yellow “Open” banner. Visit daily 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
