The Lincoln Home’s Lobster and More event a smashing success

Thu, 08/31/2017 - 10:00am

The Lincoln Home shouts out a huge thank you to over 200 people in our community who came to join in the fun at the Lobster & More event Aug. 19.

All ages danced to the lively blue grass music of the Sandy River Ramblers, dined on delicious lobsters, chicken, and blueberry deserts on a beautiful summer evening on the banks of the Damariscotta River.  Over 240 votes were cast for the People’s Choice Awards in the Art Tent after folks perused art displayed by the 20 artists exhibiting.

With thanks to  Salt Bay Framers, three cash awards were awarded to Kim Skillin Traina, Chris Jones and Marsha Brandwein.

Months of planning, and countless volunteer hours by the staff, the board of directors and members of the community, made the evening possible.  The Lincoln Home is grateful to the many local businesses and individuals who generously sponsored the event with financial support and in-kind donations, and to the artists, who donated a portion of their sales. The money raised will help support the Financial Assistance Fund at The Lincoln Home for residents who have outlived their financial resources.

Watch for the publicity and mark your calendar for Aug. 18, 2018 for next year’s Lobster & More event.
