The Maine Drug Enforcement Agency announces the arrest of a Delaware man for allegedly selling crack and heroin.  Kyle Rivers, 25, of Bear, Delaware is charged with Aggravated Trafficking in Schedule Drugs (Heroin, Crack Cocaine) Class A.

For the past month, agents from the MDEA Mid-Coast District Task Force conducted an investigation into the alleged distribution of heroin and crack cocaine by Rivers throughout greater Bath-Brunswick. At approximately 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 1, Rivers was stopped by agents and Bath police in a rental car he was operating in Bath. Rivers was allegedly en route to deliver heroin and crack cocaine in the city. Rivers was arrested without incident and charged with Aggravated Trafficking in Schedule W Drugs.

Rivers was transported to Two Bridges Regional Jail in Wiscasset where bail was set at $50,000 cash.  Charges were aggravated due to Rivers’ prior conviction for heroin possession in Maryland. Rivers is currently on probation for that conviction.

Agents and Brunswick police also conducted a search of Rivers’ room he rented at a Brunswick hotel. Seized from the room were 772 doses of heroin, 63 doses of crack cocaine, 476 Xanax pills and $10,500 of suspected drug proceeds. The street value of the seized drugs is $25,000.

During the investigation, arrest and search, agents were assisted by officers from Topsham, Bath and Brunswick police departments and deputies from the Sagadahoc and Lincoln County sheriff’s offices.
