Lincoln Theater expands Classic Film Club

Tue, 03/06/2018 - 12:00pm

With the inaugural season of Lincoln Theater’s Classic Film Club now over, enrollment in season two has begun.  For the next season, which starts up in the fall, the theater has not only added an extra film to the program (for six films instead of five) but has programmed additional Thursday evening showings along with the matinees.  Members in the Club may attend either showing, which will still include a popcorn, water and glass of wine with each film. The price remains $45 per person (cash or check only.)  Members will continue to select and vote on the films of their choice.

Additional information and application can be found by calling the theater at 207-563-3424 or by visiting the theater’s website, lcct.org, and clicking on “movies.”  The number of members is limited, so please sign up now.  As film critic, Roger Ebert noted, “In the previous century the movie theater was often, in smaller towns and cities, the only grand architectural statement, save perhaps for a church or courthouse. They unashamedly provided a proscenium for our dreams.”

They still do.

The Lincoln Theater is  located at 2 Theater Street in Damariscotta.
