Wed, 02/22/2017 - 9:45am

The Boothbay Harbor Region Chamber of Commerce is excited to present in partnership with the Boothbay Register, along with our hosts at the Boothbay Harbor Memorial Library, a series of marketing workshops that will run throughout the months of March and April. Beginning with a focus on Facebook pages for your business and spreading into other social media outlets, the first workshop in the series will be held March 8. The bi-weekly series will start with the basics of creating a Facebook page for your business and we will learn about content marketing, ways to boost your posts, and the basics for promoting your business through social media markets.

Kipp Wright and Sarah Morley of the Boothbay Register will be joining Luise Lichtenberg, BHRCC visitors & members services coordinator, and board president Michael Maxim, in leading the first of the two workshops centered on Facebook and marketing your business through the social media outlet. In the first class, we will help people create a page for their business or update a current page and discuss the first steps of: creating a post, planning themes, how often to post, and how to boost your posts with paid advertising on Facebook. The second workshop, on March 22, will dive into some more specific details that include: branding and messaging, strategies for using paid advertising on Facebook, and the importance of advertising in all media outlets, both social and print.

The workshops will run from 5-6:30 p.m. at the Boothbay Harbor Memorial Library with a limited class size. The workshops are offered free to members of the Chamber of Commerce, but non-members may participate by paying a fee of $50 per workshop. For more information, or to register for the first workshop, please contact Luise at the Chamber of Commerce at 633-2353 or via email at luise@boothbayharbor.com.

The workshops being offered in April will continue to focus on marketing, both on social media and in print advertising. We will explore the uses of Instagram and Twitter and how to apply your businesses to those social media outlets. We will also discuss the importance of advertising in both digital and print forms with several guest speakers from both inside and outside the region. We look forward to having you join us.
