Christopher Durang’s tony award winning play “Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike” will be presented by River Company on August 4-5, 11,12  at 7:30 p.m. and August 6 and 13 at 3 p.m. at the Porter Meeting Hall in Skidompha Library, 184 Main Street in Damariscotta.

The show, which has been called a “sunny play for gloomy people,”  is directed by board member Allison Eddyblouin and stars Stephen Wallace as Vanya, Christine Andersen as Sonia, Tamara Lilly as Masha, Tyson Bailey as Spike, Brittany Wallingford as Nina and Thalia Eddyblouin as Cassandra.  "Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike" is a comedic roller coaster of emotions as three of the titular characters who are siblings: Vanya, Sonia and Masha, struggle with "adulting" despite the fact they are all middle aged.

Fellow board members Judy McQuillen and Mitchell Wellman serve as producer and technical director respectively, with John Henry Eddyblouin serving as technical assistant.

Tickets are $15 for members, $17 for nonmembers and $5 for students.Tickets can be reserved by calling Judy McQuillen at 207-315-0547. Tickets will also be for sale at the door. The doors will open at 7 p.m. and 2:30 p.m.  for the matinee.  Membership sign up forms will be available, along with River Company’s 20th Anniversary stemless wine glass for a $10 purchase.
