Lincoln County tops in outages

As a wind and rain storm continued to pack a punch Wednesday afternoon, Lincoln County had more outages than any other that Central Maine Power serves.

As of 2:20 p.m., a total of 1,005 customers in the county were out, including ones in Boothbay, Boothbay Harbor, Edgecomb, Alna, Damariscotta, Newcastle, Jefferson and Bristol, according to CMP’s website at www.cmpco.com.

The latest wind speed recorded at the Wiscasset Airport was 18 mph, gusting to 30 mph, according to the National Weather Service’s website at www.weather.gov.

The NWS’ wind advisory for coastal Lincoln and Sagadahoc counties was due to expire at 3 p.m.
