Oxbow’s third annual egg hunt to raise funds for Maine Children’s Cancer Program

Thu, 03/15/2018 - 8:30am

Oxbow Brewing Company will hold its third annual egg hunt on Saturday, March 24 at the farmhouse brewery in Newcastle (274 Jones Woods Road). This year’s event will again raise funds for the Maine Children’s Cancer Program (MCCP), which provides integrated, comprehensive clinical research based medical care and psychosocial and practical support services to infants, children, and adolescents with cancer and blood disorders from throughout the state of Maine.

The all ages egg hunt will take place at 12:30 p.m. and registration starts at noon. There will be a $5 entry fee per participant which will go directly to the MCCP. Country Coach Charters has generously donated shuttle service from the parking lot at St. Patrick’s Church to the event and back since event parking at Oxbow is limited to staff and volunteers. The shuttle will start at 11:30 and run every 10 minutes until 3 p.m.

In addition to plenty of eggs filled with peanut-free treats, children and adults will also have a chance to find two golden eggs filled with a prize for each – goodie baskets for kids and Oxbow gift certificates for adults (one for a $25 Oxbow gift card and one for a free Oxbow tasting flight).

The Riverside Butcher Co., Damariscotta’s family-run full service butcher shop, will be on hand selling smash burgers made from local, all-natural beef and other locally sourced food. In addition to Oxbow’s fresh draft beer, children’s drinks and snacks will also be available.

There will also be free, live music. Paul Mellyn, a talented bluegrass musician from Damariscotta, will play from 1 to 3 p.m.
