requests waiting on trick-or-treating

Bob MacDonald of Wiscasset Parks and Recreation said Tuesday, Tuesday’s Halloween parade and all other Nightmare on Federal Street activities will happen Friday instead, at all the same times as they would have been held Tuesday.

That means a 4 p.m. Friday, Nov. 3 lineup at Wiscasset Elementary School for the parade, which starts at 4:30 p.m. The costume contest, trunk-or-treat, music and food will follow. Nightmare on Federal Street ends at 6:30 p.m. Friday.

In addition, MacDonald said the town is asking everyone to postpone their own trick-or-treating plans until Friday, as well, as storm recovery continues and roads may still have hazards.

Wiscasset Community Center is serving as a warming shelter Tuesday and will be open until 8 p.m., MacDonald said. For more information, call the center at 882-8230.
