The living room at The Lincoln Home was transformed into a Japanese Tea room Friday, May 11, to honor Mother’s Day. Harpist, Virginia “Suki” Flanagan, from Alna, provided a lovely background of soothing melodies. Suki’s mother, Audrey, was a part of our Lincoln Home family for a number of years. Community Life Director, Rhonda Hanna, started the tradition of celebrating different countries each Mother’s Day in 2010. She has collected Japanese artifacts from her husband’s trips to Japan. Tea was served in a lovely array of teacups, along with artfully presented finger sandwiches and confectioneries. Family members, daughters and friends joined in the afternoon celebration.
