‘Aging in Maine’ discussion Sept. 13 in Damariscotta

Thu, 09/07/2017 - 7:15am

An upcoming Community Conversation will focus on “Aging in Maine: What are the challenges and strategies for both younger and older Mainers?”

The next LCDC Sponsored Community Conversation is Wednesday, Sept. 13 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Doors open at 5:30 for light refreshments and finding a seat for the event. The location is Mobius, 319 Main Street, Damariscotta

Join panelists for a discussion of challenges faced as we age, both for our seniors, and for their family members. The conversation will also explore what other communities are doing to address those challenges, available resources, and how addressing these issues can help people of all generations.

“We are delighted to have panelists Jessica Maurer and Steve Raymond for this event” said LCDC Outreach Committee chair Jan John. “They bring a wealth of knowledge on these issues.”

Maurer is executive director, Maine Association of Area Agencies on Aging; Program Director, Tri-State Learning Collaborative on Aging; and Co-Chair, Maine Council on Aging.

Raymond is director of marketing and community outreach, The Lincoln Home; and producer and host for LCTV “Spotlight on Seniors” program.

Organizers are looking forward to an engaging and informative community conversation about what can be done to make aging less of a challenge here in our communities. All are welcome.
