Easter Eggspress rides again

The Wiscasset,Waterville, & Farmington Railway Museum held its annual Easter Eggpress on Saturday, April 20. Railroad Superintendent Jason Lamontagne said the event was going forward even though rain was scheduled throughout the day.

“We run the railroad no matter and show a good time no matter,” said Lamontagne.

Lamontagne said the museum was shuttling two trains that could carry 100 passengers each to its substation. Once there the passengers get off and the children separate into age groups for the egg hunt, he said.

Along the way passengers in one car on Saturday spontaneously broke into singing “I’ve been working on the railroad.” Some passengers said it was their first time on the Easter Eggpress. Others said they had come in previous years.
