Holly Stover campaign party July 17 at Brown’s Wharf

Tue, 07/10/2018 - 10:00am

Holly Stover of Boothbay will kick off her run for the Maine House of Representatives with a public party at Brown's Wharf Inn, 121 Atlantic Ave., in Boothbay Harbor, on Tuesday, July 17, 5 to 8 p.m. Anyone interested in meeting Holly and finding out more about her campaign is encouraged to attend.

Holly is a Boothbay native, born and raised, and has dedicated her life to community service. She spent many years working for the Maine Department of Health and Human Services on statewide initiatives to fight homelessness, hunger, addiction, domestic violence, sexual assault and human trafficking, while supporting people with mental health and developmental disabilities. An important aspect of her work has been connecting these state efforts with the work already being done on the ground by local charities. She believes these partnerships are essential, and hopes to use her knowledge in Augusta to create more opportunities for the place she calls home. She currently works with Lincoln County Dental providing dental services to local residents, and the Boothbay Region Community Resource Council, where she has helped create a partnership with local police departments to combat the opioid epidemic in this community.

Her policy priorities will be affordable healthcare for all Maine people and a range of educational opportunities - from apprenticeships to two-year degrees to four-year degrees - to help all Maine students reach their potential. She is also interested in finding ways to attract and retain young people, families and working people to our communities through job creation, support for those seeking to start their own businesses, high quality infrastructure, and a range of housing opportunities.
