Lights, more lights

I still am liking the traffic lights the state put in last year at 1 and 27 in Wiscasset. I still wish whoever is peeping at me to turn left onto 27 would realize the green light doesn’t mean you can turn if southbound traffic is coming through, and that I am waiting for it to clear, or for the green arrow, whichever comes first.

If you haven’t been peeping, thank you.

I still wish we could get a light at 1 and Federal Street so I could turn left onto 1 as easily as I can now turn left onto 1 from 27. If I mention this enough times, maybe it will catch on.

What an exciting idea the Twin Villages have in “Villages of Light” in the next holiday season, including tree-decorating on Main Street.

Knowing the sights of the pumpkin-decorating on Main Street during Pumpkinfest and the wonderful holiday light displays the Boothbay peninsula has been getting into, this new effort in Damariscotta and Newcastle, on whatever scale it takes, could be good for businesses and great fun for the rest of us.
