Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office: Several snow-related accidents Jan. 16

The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office responded to 186 calls for service for the period of Jan. 16 to Jan. 23. Year to date, LCSO has responded to 636 calls for service.

Summonses

Seth Michael D. Petersen, 31, of Wiscasset was issued summonses Jan. 19 for Operating while License is Suspended or Revoked and Violating Condition of Release, on Townsend Avenue, Boothbay Harbor, by Deputy Owen Beattie.

Arrests

Daniel Santaella, 22, of Westport Island was arrested Jan. 16 for Domestic Violence Assault, on Greenleaf Road, Westport Island, by Deputy Jerold Winslow.

Sara Savage, 33, of Boothbay was arrested Jan. 20 for Domestic Violence Assault and Criminal Mischief, on Wright Road, Boothbay, by Deputy Samuel Alexander.

John P. Conway, 56, of South Thomaston was arrested Jan. 21 on a Knox County warrant for Failure to Appear, on Rockland Road, Whitefield, by Deputy Jeffrey Rogers.

Accidents

On Jan. 16,, an accident occurred on Western Avenue in Boothbay Harbor involving Nellie B. Doane, 70, of Southport and Troy Hodgdon, 50, of Westport Island. Ms. Doane was stopped in her 2016 Toyota 4Runner at the traffic light on Western Avenue, prior to the bridge to Southport Island. Mr. Hodgdon was approaching the light as well in his 2017 Ford Super Cab and due to the snow conditions and the incline of the road, he slid into the rear of Doane’s vehicle. Deputy Ethan Burns was the investigating officer.

On Jan. 16, an accident occurred on Wiscasset Road in Boothbay involving Traci A. Blackman, 51, of Boothbay Harbor and Pamela H. Pasch, 56, of Boothbay. Ms. Blackman was stopped at the end of County Club Road, in her 2008 GMC Envoy, waiting to turn onto Wiscasset Road. Ms. Pasch was approaching the intersection in her 2022 Toyota RAV4 behind Blackman’s vehicle and when she braked, her vehicle slid in the snow and was unable to stop, before rear-ending Blackman’s vehicle. Deputy Ethan Burns was the investigating officer.

On Jan. 16, an accident occurred on Lower Round Pond Road in Bristol involving Caydan E. Davis, 18, of Warren. Mr. Davis was operating his 2006 Toyota Scion westbound around a corner, traveling too fast for the road conditions.  As a result, he crossed the centerline, went off the roadway on the left side before coming to rest against a tree. Deputy Samuel Alexander was the investigating officer.

On Jan. 16, an accident occurred on Gardiner Road in Dresden involving Roland G. Quirion, 62, of Chelsea. Mr. Quirion was operating his 2020 Subaru Ascent westbound when he lost traction due to significant snow conditions of the road. As a result, he was unable to regain control and ultimately struck the crash barricade in front of the gas pump, at the Dresden Take Out. His vehicle then rode up and over the barricade, damaging the gas pump and light post, before finally coming to rest. Deputy Nathaniel Aronson was the investigating officer.

On Jan. 16, an accident occurred on Lakeside Drive in Boothbay Harbor involving Anthony A. Heyl, 75, of Boothbay. Mr. Heyl was operating his 2007 Subaru Legacy southbound and was making a left hand turn onto Middle Road, when he lost control due to slippery road conditions. As a result, his vehicle slid around 180 degrees and went off the roadway, into a fence, causing damage to the fence and his vehicle. Detective Matthew Ryan was the investigating officer.

On Jan. 16, an accident occurred on Bristol Road in Bristol involving Teresa Montz, 64, of South Bristol. Ms. Montz was operating her 2017 Ford F150 southbound when she lost control of her vehicle, went off the roadway on the right, before coming to rest against a telephone pole. Deputy Samuel Alexander was the investigating officer.

On Jan. 16, an accident occurred on Bristol Road in Bristol involving Oliver Palmer, 52, of Belfast. Mr. Palmer was operating his 2022 Dodge 2500 northbound when he lost control of his vehicle, crossed the center line, went off the roadway on the left, taking out small trees before coming to rest against a tree. Deputy Samuel Alexander was the investigating officer.

On Jan. 16, an accident occurred on Jones Woods Road in Newcastle involving James F. Fairservice, 33, of Gardiner. Mr. Fairservice was operating his 2016 Chevrolet 1500 eastbound when his vehicle slid on the snow/ice covered roadway and went off the roadway to the left. His vehicle then rolled onto the driver’s side and came to rest in the roadway.  Deputy Jerold Winslow was the investigating officer.

On Jan. 17, an accident occurred on Bunker Hill Road in Jefferson involving Tim Connelly, 60, of Vassalboro. Mr. Connelly was operating his 2016 Chevrolet 3500 southbound when he approached the intersection and could not stop. As a result, his vehicle skidded through the intersection, entered the ditch and struck an embankment. Sgt. Kevin Dennison was the investigating officer.

On Jan. 20, an accident occurred on US Route 1 in Nobleboro involving Courtney J. Allen, 33, of Wiscasset and Andrew T. Stone, 35, of Rockland. Mr. Stone was operating his 2010 Honda Accord northbound when a deer ran in front of his vehicle and was struck. Mr. Stone stopped in the roadway after striking the deer. Ms. Allen was operating her 2009 Kia Sportage behind Stone’s vehicle and failed to notice he had stopped and struck his vehicle in the rear area.  Both vehicles sustained extensive damage and were towed due to be disabled. Deputy Nathaniel Aronson was the investigating officer.

On Jan. 21, an accident occurred on Cross Point Road in Edgecomb involving John K. Nelson, 36, of Wiscasset. Mr. Nelson was operating his 2014 Toyota Tundra northbound when a deer entered the roadway and was struck. Sgt. Jonathan Colby was the investigating officer.

On Jan. 21, an accident occurred on Foster Road in Bristol involving Christina L. Tonry, 30, of Edgecomb. Ms. Tonry was operating her 2016 Toyota Tacoma northbound when she lost control of her vehicle and went off the roadway on the left. Her vehicle then impacted some small trees and an embankment before re-entering the roadway, crossing the road, going down an embankment on the right side, before finally coming to rest against a fallen tree. Deputy Nathaniel Aronson was the investigating officer.
