The Morris Farm Store in Wiscasset is looking for volunteers to help with store operations and contribute to one of two projects: an “easy recipe” project or a “food facts” signage project. Volunteers will work a three-hour shift at the store once a week, serving customers and working on a project during times when no customers are in the store. Qualifications include basic word processing skills, a willingness to learn to serve customers, using a system set up with volunteers in mind, and a willingness to be interrupted when working on a project — as the customer comes first. The Morris Farm Store provides an outlet for local produce (fresh vegetables and fruit), meat, dairy products (raw milk, eggs, butter, yogurt), canned goods and condiments (including honey), body care products and craft items. The store is also a drop-off point for Port Clyde Fresh Catch, a local CSF (community-supported fishery).  People can order on the CSF website and pick up orders in our store on Friday afternoons.

Nearly everything sold at the store comes from the Midcoast area, within a radius of about 20 miles of the store. If you can’t find what you would like, the store may be able to get you in contact with a local farmer or producer who has what you are looking for. You can also sign up for a weekly store newsletter at info@morrisfarm.org. The store accepts EBT cards and sponsors the Maine Harvest Bucks program, a supplemental program to help stretch dollars spent for fruits and vegetables.
