Nora T. Brewer, 85, passed away on March 18, 2024 at her home in Southport. 

Nora was born Feb. 19, 1939 in Rochester, New York to Levi Tomer and Doris Robinson Tomer. Nora attended local schools and graduated from Boothbay Region High School. She later graduated from Farmington Teachers College.

Nora was a compassionate, loving, and hardworking person. She dedicated her life to serving others through her careers as a teacher and nurse. Nora’s impact was felt by many, both in her professional roles and in her personal relationships. She was a member of the Southport United Methodist Church and the 4H club.  She enjoyed gardening, and playing music on her violin, piano, or saxophone in her spare time. She also enjoyed cooking and camping. She loved her dog, Sadie, with whom she often took on walks.

Nora was predeceased by her husband, Donald Brewer Sr.; parents, Levi and Doris; Aunt and Uncle, Nora and Maynard Robinson; son, Leslie W. Brewer II; sisters, Carla Tomer, Jeannie Tomer, Pachen Tomer; brothers, Maynard and Bo Tomer, and by a sister-in-law, Sandra Thibault.

She is survived by her sons, Donald Brewer Jr., Maynard Brewer and his partner Jo Moore, Christopher Abaldo and his wife Elizabeth; daughter, Amy Durham; grandchildren, Sherman Brewer, Jake Brewer, Andre “AJ” Durham, Isabelle Abaldo, Logan Abaldo; brother-in-law, Peter Brewer and his wife Linda; nieces and nephews, Betsy, Matt and Marty Thibault and Jessica Brewer, Cybel Perry, and many others .

A service to honor and celebrate Nora’s life will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, March 24at Hall Funeral Home, 975 Wiscasset Road, Boothbay.  Arrangments are entrusted to Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Boothbay.
