St. Patrick’s Day luncheon at the Y
The Boothbay Region YMCA is hosting an annual St. Patrick's Day Luncheon Thursday, March 16 at noon, in the Y’s Coastal Club Room. The menu includes Irish stew, biscuits and dessert, catered by Abbie Shaw, Fine Cuisine.
This luncheon features recognition for the Community Center "Awesome Seniors" who walk the Y indoor track on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. This promises to be a nice event, bringing together Y members, non-members and any one interested in a delicious and fun social event.
Abby Jones, Y healthy living coordinator, and Dan Parrot, the Y's new aquatic specialist, are this year's event hosts. Jones notes that "The Y happily offers events like this; it gives us another opportunity to show everyone that we care and that we love to get together!"
At the luncheon, we will have a visit from local Resource Police Officer, Larry Brown, whose birthday is on St. Patrick's Day. So we are planning a green birthday cake for Larry! Larry shares his birthday every year with a Emery Lorrain, who Larry will bring to the lunch. Larry says that "it works out that the Y luncheon is actually the day before St. Patrick's Day, because the next day, the actual St. Patrick's Day, on Friday, March 17, there is no school, for a teacher in-service day!”
To cover luncheon costs, we ask $10 for Y members, and $12 for non-members. Sign up at the Y or at the Community Center, by March 10.
