The public is invited to start the summer season at Pemaquid Watershed Association’s 14th annual fundraiser called the Party on the Pier. The Party will be held on Thursday, June 21, from 5 to 8 p.m. at The Contented Sole restaurant in Pemaquid Harbor.

Partygoers will enjoy the impressive silent auction, appetizers, a light supper and delightful desserts courtesy of The Contented Sole. A cash bar will be open for that special summer cocktail. During the Party there will be lively entertainment from “The Dam Jam Fiddlers,” a local ensemble that plays Irish/Celtic, Americana, bluegrass and traditional music.

The silent auction will feature about 80 items, including jewelry, works of art, restaurant and area business gift certificates, and intriguing must-have gifts. Some highlights are a float plane tour over the Pemaquid region; two tickets to the Portland Symphony Orchestra; a hand carved loon by the renowned artist Daniel Strawser; a necklace especially created for the auction by ABOCA Beads owner Judy Dumont; and two gorgeous hand-made quilts by local artists, one in reds by Beth Ditkoff and one in blues by Harriet Beckerman.

To see the items and place a bid during the June 13-20 pre-bidding period, go to the Pemaquid Watershed Association office at 584 Main Street, Damariscotta. The PWA office is open Monday through Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The early bidding process will take place up until 4 p.m. on Wednesday, June 20 and the bidding will then continue at the Party on the Pier the next evening. Those who placed the winning bids at the PWA office will be notified during the week after the Party. Cash, check, debit and credit cards will be accepted.

This major fundraiser directly supports PWA’s mission to conserve the natural resources of the Pemaquid peninsula region through land and water stewardship and education. Party on the Pier tickets are $35 each and $35 at the door. Tickets can be purchased at the PWA office, across from Young ‘Uns. Tickets also can be reserved by contacting PWA at 563-2196 or by emailing kerry@pemaquidwatershed.org.
