“Mary Poppins Returns” - Emily Blunt is Mary Poppins and Lin Manuel Miranda (of Hamilton fame) takes the lamplighter to new heights in this remake of the original movie with the kids as adults now faced with a new problem for Mary. Just as Michael Banks and his sister think their house will be repossessed, Mary Poppins—the beloved nanny from their childhood—arrives to save the day and take the Banks family on a magical, fun-filled adventure. Also starring Ben Whishaw, Emily Mortimer and Julie Walters with Colin Firth and Meryl Streep, and cameos by Dick Van Dyke and Angela Lansbury.  The film (Rated PG, 130 minutes) plays Wednesday, Feb. 20 at  2 p.m. (extra matinee) and 7 p.m.; and Thursday, Feb. 21 at 7 p.m.

“Casablanca” - Harbor Theater Classic Film Series - The iconic 1942 film featuring Humphrey Bogart (Rick) and Ingrid Bergman (Ilsa). It won the Academy Award for Best Picture, Best Director and Best Adapted Screenplay, and is now considered one of the greatest films in history. Set during World War II in North Africa, Casablanca is the town where it's easy to enter, but harder to leave - especially if you are wanted by the Nazis. Resistance leader Victor Laszio (Paul Henreid) tries to persuade Rick Blaine (Humphrey Bogart), the ex-patriot American owner of a cafe full of smoke and foreigners, to help him escape from Vichy controlled Casablanca. Rick refuses to help anyone, especially Victor and his wife Ilsa  who broke his heart not too long ago. He must choose between his still burning love for her and helping the couple escape to continue their fight against the Nazis. (Rated PG, 1 hour - 42 mins.) Starring Felicity Jones, Armie Hammer, Justin Theroux, Sam Waterston and Kathy Bates.

“On the Basis of Sex” -  The film tells an inspiring and spirited true story that follows young lawyer Ruth Bader Ginsburg (Felicity Jones) as she teams up with her husband Marty to bring a groundbreaking case before the U.S. Court of Appeals and overturn a century of gender discrimination. The feature premiered in 2018 in line with Justice Ginsburg's 25th anniversary on the Supreme Court. (PG-13; 2 hours) Playing Thursday, Feb. 21 at 2 p.m.

Talking Art in Maine, Intimate Conversations -  Charlie Hewitt is known for his energetic abstract paintings, his woodcuts and his biomorphic steel sculptures. Growing up in the mill-working towns of Lewiston/Auburn, his work reflects the energy and culture of these two Communities, and the three priorities common to both - the church, family, and work. “The Favourite” - Nominated for 10 Academy Awards! Early 18th century England is at war with the French. Nevertheless, duck racing and pineapple eating are thriving. A frail Queen Anne (Olivia Colman – Best Actress Golden Globe winner) occupies the throne and her close friend Lady Sarah (Rachel Weisz) governs the country in her stead while tending to Anne's ill health and mercurial temper. When a new servant Abigail (Emma Stone) arrives, her charm endears her to Sarah. Sarah takes Abigail under her wing and Abigail sees a chance at a return to her aristocratic roots. As the politics of war become quite time consuming for Sarah, Abigail steps into the breach to fill in as the Queen's companion. Diary of a Wimpy Kid“ -  Stories to Screen: Elementary Adventures -  Hapless preteen Greg Heffley (Zachary Gordon) endures bullies, swirlies, morons, and wedgies while navigating the treacherous world of middle school and recording his traumas in his personal journal in this family-oriented comedy inspired by author Jeff Kinney's best-selling series of illustrated novels. Realizing that he'll have to get creative if he hopes to survive until high school, Greg concocts a series of get-cool-quick schemes that all go hopelessly awry. Despite the fact that he's viewed as a dork by his peers, Greg never loses hope that someday, when all is said and done, he'll be able to look back on his middle school experiences and laugh.
