Red Sox, Celtics and Bruins. In the past couple of weeks, at least one of the Boston teams has been on cable TV sometime during the week. The Red Sox have a long way to go, so they aren't my first choice of late when tuning in sports after a day of work — plus the games are so s-l-o-w. The Celtics had a good season and are facing the Chicago Bulls. The C's lost the first game, which was an emotional one for the team, especially for point guard Isaiah Thomas, whose sister was killed in a one-car accident just a day before Sunday's first game against the Bulls. Hopefully the "Green Team" will bounce back Tuesday night (they didn’t). The Bruins — I do like watching playoff hockey — have fallen behind 2-1 in its seven-game series against the Ottawa Senators after two overtime losses. The B's look to bounce back but injuries and playing in Ottawa after Wednesday's pivotal game ... so it just doesn't look good for Boston to make it to the second round.

Have you ever thought about what you would undertake for a profession if you had a chance to go back in time and start anew? In the past few years, I have had those thoughts and I think I might have liked being a teacher or a chef. I have always like working with young people (18 years of coaching basketball) and — like newspaper work — I could've probably survived on a teacher's salary. And being a chef seems like a lot of fun — though I know from hearing stories from my brother Glenn who has cooked in restaurants for years, it's fun but a lot of hard work. I worked as a bartender in some local establishments that would get pretty busy, so cranking out some plates of food in a busy restaurant seems like it would suit me just fine.
