Upcoming classes at Adult Ed

On Thursday, Nov. 30, the Maine Alzheimer's Association will be doing a talk and presentation on Healthy Living for Your Brain and Body. Anyone of any age who is looking for information on how to age as well as possible will benefit from this class. For centuries we’ve known the health of the brain and the body are connected. There are lifestyle habits we can adopt to help maintain or even potentially improve our health. Nutrition, diet, and exercise play an important role in healthy aging. The time is 6-7:30 p.m. and the cost is $8.

Needlefelting is a simple way to make cute sculptural animals and birds. Have fun in this one night class on December 5 where you will learn how to assemble and add details to a simple animal you can keep or give as a special gift. Debra will bring examples and all materials and tools to use for this amazing process. Bring a clear photo of what animal you might want to make. Please sign up by Thursday, Nov. 30. The time is 5:30-8:30 p.m., and the registration fee is $18.00 plus a $9.00 material fee paid to the instructor on class night.

There are also a few spaces left in Build Your Own Calzone with Kim at Eventide on Tuesday, Dec. 5 from 6:30-8:30. If you've taken a class at Eventide you know you'll have fun and learn something new!

Join pastry chef, Alex Tallen to delight your guests this holiday season with a traditional French bûche de Noël (or yule log)! An impessive dessert for the holiday season During this 2-day class, we will learn how to make the cake, filling and icing and then let our creativity run wild with decorations both traditional and fanciful. These bûche de Noël will certainly be as delicious as they are beautiful to behold! Alex received training at the Ritz Escoffier Culinary School in Paris.
