A delicious pork supper was served up by Chef Julie on Wednesday, Dec. 5 followed by a yummy chocolate cake to celebrate a December birthday. Happy Birthday, Elaine Grover!

Don't miss the last community supper for 2017 to be served on Wednesday, Dec. 20. The featured entree is chicken chasseur (chicken in a hunter's sauce), with soup, salad, rice, bread and dessert. Reservations for the meal must be made by noon on Monday, Dec. 18 by calling the Wiscasset Community Center on 882-8230. All are welcome!

Please note that if you have made a reservation for a meal but cannot attend, please call 882-8230 to cancel your reservation.

Looking ahead to 2018, the entree for the Wednesday, Jan. 3 supper will feature baked ziti and on Wednesday, Jan. 17 haddock will be served. Because New Year's Day is the Monday preceding the Jan. 3 supper, reservations for the meal need to be made during the week of Dec. 26-29.

As winter seems to be in full swing, keep in mind that if Wiscasset schools are closed or have early dismissal due to inclement weather on a Wednesday when there is a scheduled supper, or if the Wiscasset Community Center is closed, the meal will be canceled. But if the schools have a delayed opening, the meal will be served.

The final “Lunch with Lisa” session for 2017 is scheduled for Monday, Dec. 18 from noon-2 p.m. This is an interactive session with Wiscasset Parks and Recreation Director, Lisa Thompson to get a better understanding of how the Community Center can better serve the older adults in the community. To get an accurate head count reservations must be made by calling 882-8230.

The cribbage results for Tuesday, Dec. 5 were Diane Robinson first (847), Stuart Wyman second (836), Marge Pooler third (819), Arlene Steen low score (720) and a tie for high hand with Doc Schilke and Diane Robinson (24).

Wishing all a very Merry Christmas and a happy and healthy holiday season.
