Wiscasset Senior Center

Tue, 02/27/2018 - 7:45am

The Wednesday, Feb. 21 supper was well attended and featured chicken oregano. Once again, no birthdays were celebrated for the month of February. The Lincoln Theater movie ticket giveaway was won by Frank Sprague. Congratulations Frank!

The next public supper scheduled for Wednesday, March 7 will feature Guinness beef stew as the entree. Make reservations for this meal by noon Monday, March 5 by calling the Wiscasset Community Center at 882-8230. Chicken is available as an alternative entree but must be specified with the meal reservation.

Future suppers include Wednesday, March 21, mac and cheese with ham slices, Wednesday, April 4, vegetable lasagna and Wednesday April 18, chicken Parmesan.

As always, if Wiscasset schools are closed, have early dismissal or the Wiscasset Community Center closes due to inclement weather on an evening when there is a supper scheduled, the meal will be canceled. If, however, the schools have a delayed opening, the scheduled supper will be served.

The Wiscasset Community Center will host the first annual “Midcoast Vintage Bazaar” on Saturday and Sunday, April 7 and 8 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. both days. There will be a table set up in the lobby of the Community Center for a pie sale to benefit the Senior Center. Volunteers are needed to bake and/or sell at the table on either one or both days of this event. A sign up sheet is available in the Senior Center and at Wednesday evening suppers for those who wish to help out. Remember, many hands make light work.
