Dresden split on school funding question

Dresden came up with a tie vote of 241-241 on Regional School Unit 12’s ballot question Tuesday to accept $26 million in state funding for a pre-kindergarten through grade eight school next to Monmouth Academy. The question got the majority support it needed district-wide to pass.

Superintendent of Schools Bill Zima said in numbers he received, Richmond approved it 414-402; Hallowell went 714-212; Farmingdale, 400-260; and Monmouth, 927-219, for a total tally of 2,696 yes votes and 1,334 no’s.

Dresden also had 25 blanks on the question, according to an email from the town.
 
On state questions, Dresden had  74  yes votes for question one and 431 no’s; went 287-217 on question two’ 352-151 on question three; and 296-192 on question four.
