What’s better than being allowed to play outside after dark? Nothing, that’s what. And when you add candy and little toys and things that light up and people dressed up in scary costumes, you’ve got the making of a first-class event for kids. On Friday, Oct. 27, kids gathered for the Halloween Raven Egg Hunt at Wiscasset Community Center. A driving rainstorm earlier in the day did nothing to deter the determined egg-hunters, nor the staff of the WCC, some of whom had been preparing during the storm by stringing lights, laying straw and “hiding” eggs.

A lucky dozen children traded in special “golden” eggs to Witch Erin for coffin-shaped boxes of Halloween candy.
